WiFiPhoto è il modo più veloce per scaricare foto di alta qualità dal Rullino Fotografico o dalla Libreria Foto del tuo iPhone su un computer collegato ad una rete WiFi. Nessun bisogno del dock o di un cavo usb, nessuno compromesso sulla qualità. Basta selezionare le foto e aprire il browser sul computer (Safari, Firefox o Internet Explorer) all’indirizzo web visualizzato in fondo alla pagina principale da WiFiPhoto. Puoi anche scaricare un archivio compresso con tutte le immagini. I would like an app the other way round. To upload pix from my camera to iPhone via wifi and then ftp transmit with 3G.
Oh, and if you could add IPTC editing. ;o)
That’s an interesting use. I started writing what I needed for my own use at first. But that’s an interesting feature. I think I will take some time to implement it. Thank you.

I already have Pocketphojo, but I can’t make it work together with Nikon’s wifi transmitter.
Eyefi doesn’t work on my D3 either.

This is an amazing app. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! My hard drive crashed and when the “geniuses” at Apple moved my data from the external hard drive something got totally messed up with my photos which numbered in the thousands. All I had left was the copies on my iPhone. I was absolutely beside myself. By the way – Apple told me there was no way to send those photos to my mac because they had not been taken with the iPhone camera. I did a little research and I found your wonderful app. BRAVO!! One question/recommendation – in the picture select process, is there any way to select more than one photo at a time instead of having to click each individual picture?
Thank you ! It’s not possible to select more than one photo at a time. It’s a problem related to memory and things a developer can and can’t do. As soon as it’s possible, I will fix this.

I just got this app today but I don’t get an ip address to connect my browser to. I changed the port to 80 but still nothing??
I need help please.
Ok figured it out. It doesn’t show the ip address in the app (bug?) but it just uses the iphones ip address and a :8080 at the end.
So I just bookmark that address and then I don’t have to enter it every time on my computer.
Does this app also work with videos shot with iPhone 3GS?
Currently it doesn’t. But it’s on my to-do list for my next update.
I just bought the new version now. Is there any way to turn the sound off when you pick your photo?
No. It was an option of early betas but I removed it because I found it useless. I can always change my mind, anyway.

Two questions:
1. I have File Magnet already which requires me to have Internet connection over Wi-Fi alone in order to transfer files (JPEG, PDF) over to PC. My Wi-Fi always has issue connecting to Internet. Works 1 out of 100. Meaning, File Magnet simply not useful for my iPhone. Now, how about WiFiPhoto? Will it work without Internet connection?
2. Is there anyway to do the reverse. Instead of downloading, I would like to transfer (high resolution) images back to iPhone.
If the answer is yes for both above, I am buying it. Thanks
WiFiPhoto also works over 3G networks without WiFi signal. Nevertheless you should carefully check your data plan since it could become really expensive to transfer photos. At the moment it doesn’t support transfer of high resolution photos back to iPhone.

Any idea if you could add the ability to email the zip file of images? Would make it a lot easier to show then share images. Other then that this is a great application. Keep up the good work.

I like the app but picking one picture at a time is a pain. I know your reasons for this being the iphones memory etc. but would it be possible to implement it differently. eg:
currently you pick one photo wait for it to process your selection and then you pick another, and again wait for it to process.
would it be possible to make multiple selections without waiting for each one to process, and then when your done the app processes all your selections one at a time.
I hope this makes sense, essentialy what i am trying to say is make a list of pictures for the app to copy and do all th e processing at the end even if it took several minutes you could just put the phone down.
The problem is that once a photo is picked, it must be immediately processed otherwise it’s lost. If I saved it for later, times would be longer. I’m sorry but there’s currently no workaround.
I downloaded your wifiphoto app because of the great reviews. I want to download some pics from my Iphone to my computer, but it says “no wifi connection” when I go into the app. When I go into my settings and turn on wifi, do I have to join a network because if I just turn WiFi on, it says (in settings) “not connected”. What will finally make my app work? I’m a novice, so please consider that in your explanation.

I’m sorry for your connection problems but WiFiPhoto works perfectly with every model of iPhone. I’m using 3gs for development and I’ve found no issues so far.
WiFiPhoto was tested on several configurations (XP / Vista / Leopard / SL / Safari / Chrome / IE / Firefox). Nevertheless connection problems may still be present but are generally related to routers. WiFiPhoto needs a wifi connection, so you should check in iPhone’s Settings that WiFi is on and that you’re connected to a network (wifi symbol should come up at the top left corner). Try and browse in Safari to see if it works.
If WiFIPhoto displays no web address you can simply use the one under Settings > General > Network > WiFi > * Your selected network * and add the chosen port. (So if you read 192.6.1.25 and server port is default 8080, you should enter in your browser’s address bar http://192.6.1.25:8080). Please enter the COMPLETE address including http://
You can try to change WiFiPhoto’s server port to 80. In WiFiPhoto go to Settings > Server port. Switch server status off and on.
Make sure there’s no software or hardware firewall active. If you have Internet Security you should try to disable it.

If it doesn’t please let me know which kind of OS, iPhone OS, browser and router you are using and which kind of problem you are facing (no webpage loading at all, just very very slow, no web address displayes…) and possibly a screenshot of any error your browser displays.
I’m sure it’s something I’m doing wrong, but here’s what I have: Iphone, version 3.1.3. I’ve gone to Settings>General>Network>Wi-Fi>then when I turn it on, it says Choose a Network. Ask to Join is ON so I assume no known networks are available. How do I know which network to choose? I can go in to Safari on my Iphone and it works fine. So I assume the problem I’m having is that I can’t get WiFi on my phone.
At the moment I’m trying to put my pics on a computer that uses Vista, and I’m using AOL. When I get back home, I’ll be using a computer that is XP, using MSN. Thanks for your patience.
Try this. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi. You should see at least one network checkmarked under Choose a network. Otherwise there’s no wifi network. Tap on the arrow right to the selected network and read your address under IP address (i.e. 198.168.0.2). If you changed nothing in default WiFiPhoto’s settings, you should enter http://your.ip.adresss:8080 (i.e. http://198.168.0.2:8080) in your browser
This is a good solution for what I need. I just purchased a iPhone4 (16gb). 5mp photos and 720p videos can sure eat up the free space pretty fast. I was looking for an ‘eye-fi’ type solution and this is pretty close. I tried using dropbox, hoping that it could sync automatically… no luck.
The new iPhone 4 camera is really useful (coming from a 3g). I feel that I’ll be taking many more photos with my phone now. I don’t know how many people will use it this way, but I’m looking for this type of workflow:
- take photos
- open wifiphoto
- select ‘all photos in camera roll’ (feature request?)
- get ip address
- in laptop browser, navigate to URL and download .zip
- extract and import into Lightroom
- edit
- publish to web (Picasa in my case)
- clean up camera roll on iPhone (feature request?)
Anything you can do to help with reducing this workflow would be great. I feel like i’m a pretty savvy technology person, I’m fairly comfortable with this workflow, but people like my mom and dad (who also just bought iPhones), they need a solution for getting the photos off of the phone and on to a computer… maybe even directly to photo sharing sites (picasa, flickr, photobucket). I think you would tap a market of non-techie people if you could reduce their photo publishing/backup to a few steps.
